Our new hybrid 260Ah lithium dual battery system includes a powerful integrated 80V/20A MPPT solar charger. Now, our Bluetooth app allows you to view the additional solar supply input through a separate shunt.
The 260Ah DBS comes with two DCS 130Ah Hybrid Batteries, one of which is configured as a Right Hand Positive and the other as a Left Hand Positive with a solar MPPT input socket. As part of the system, you will also receive an IP67 aviation to Anderson Plug cable, allowing you to plug and play your solar supply.
All DCS dual battery systems (DBS) come with fully programmed Victron Smart Battery Protect load disconnects. This device controls the reserve for starting the engine. When engaged, the device draws only 1.2mA. The top 80% should be used for deep cycling for accessories, while the remaining 20% should be reserved for engine cranking. The SBPs should be installed inside a dry compartment, and as many accessory loads as possible, such as USB sockets, fridges, lighting, UHFs, Cel-Fi, radars, chart plotters, etc., should be protected. Over 300W inverters must be connected directly to the batteries, bypassing the SBPs.
When two DCS 130Ah Hybrid batteries are connected in parallel, they can charge up to 125A x 2 = 210A. Ideally, alternators should be kept under 210A. All DCS batteries use our high-performance 2C cylindrical cells, and the mechanical design is very efficient, making it very easy to recharge these batteries. There is no need to instal aftermarket alternators; OEM alternators are the best for our batteries and charge them back up very quickly. If you have a vehicle with a lazy smart alternator, consider installing a quality commercial solar panel of at least 360W+, as our powerful 20A MPPT can produce more than 100Ah per day. It will easily keep the batteries charged while running a standard-sized refrigerator and basic accessories.
This system is suitable for nearly every make/model of 4WD on the market, as well as boats that can fit these sized batteries in the engine bay or, of course, cabins and other compartments.
